Crappy Birthday – Game from North Star Games- Review (And a Giveaway)

Are you looking for a unique game that will get the players laughing and having lots of fun together? Well I have to introduce you to this great game, Crappy Birthday! It is a hilarious, fun game that the whole family will love. It is from a great game company North Star Games, here is a little more information about North Star Games from the website:

Our games are always fun, simple to learn, and bursting with personality. Why? Because they are created by artists with a lifelong passion for game design - not by "cubicle monkeys" waiting to clock out for the day. We recognize the unique contributions of our game designers by putting their name on the front of each box. It is their inspiration and years of dedication that give our games such great personality!

My Review:

We received a game from NorthStarGames called CrappyBirthday and I have to admit I was amazed at something so simple could have us sitting at our kitchen table for a few hours laughing and playing. It’s a simple game you’re dealt 5 cards and have to pick from your cards what you think the person whose “birthday” it is would think is the worst or most crappy gift. My daughter had an absolute blast playing it and has been asking us nonstop to play again and again, even though she saw the box and said I can’t say that word! Before we even played we were laughing!

You have some doozies to choose from for gifts…some truly are crappy such as a bidet and some left my husband saying I’d love that! It was a Star Wars collection and a Star Wars themed wedding; he’s a geek I know… We really had to think about what each other would think is bad and it made it especially hard to try and figure out what a 7 year old thinks is crappy, anything with bugs we knew we would have a good chance with it was the other gifts that made us think.

It’s not a complicated game which is nice, there aren’t a million rules or pieces and it was easy enough for a 7 year old to play. It was nice to sit around the kitchen table and play a game instead of sitting on the couch watching television.

So if you are looking for a game that people will love, from young to old. This is a great game for you, I would recommend this, it was fun and my daughter is just begging to play this again. So I loved it, and so did she. We will have to play this at our next family get together I am sure it will be so much fun for us all!
