I was invited with a group of local bloggers to check out the new salon Heads & Tails Beauty Boutique in Philadelphia. The salon opened in January 2012 , it is a great new idea (well new to me that is…) a Dry Bar salon a salon where there is no hair cutting or dying, just styling and waxing a great concept.

I had the opportunity to have my hair blown out and styled, and have my eye brows waxed.

Having my hair blown out and styled was so relaxing, while getting my hair washed before the styling I could have fallen asleep in the chair, I was so relaxed and it felt great.  This would be a wonderful treat after a long day’s work, perhaps before a date night with my husband. After that, we were on to the blow dry and the style, hmm what to do? Well my hair is so flat and straight some curls would be a great change of pace, so curls it is. As my hair was being combed and ready for drying, the stylish has such a soft touch. Combing my hair can be a painful thing, it is so thin and gets so knotty but I barely realized my hair was being combed. And before I knew it I had a great hair style that lasted all night. I was very happy with the results.

I was a little apprehensive with having my eyebrows waxed…. I usually pluck. And the last time I had my eyebrows waxed was also the first time I have ever had my eyebrows waxed. That was a terrible experience, it was painful and took a couple painful tears of the wax to finish the job. In the end my eyebrows looked half done, and there was sticky wax all over! This terrible experience was in the back of a hair salon/accessory shop. I paid $8.00 for this mess well over 10 years ago.  When it came to having my eyebrows done at Heads & Tails Beauty Boutique  I was still nervous…

One of the co-founders of the salon Jennie she was in charge of doing my eyebrows she was so sweet, and she was very good at what she does. This was such a much nicer experience, than my last waxing. The “wax” that they use is a specialized wax that comes off in strips and does not leave a mess. The waxing room was such a great realizing atmosphere, I could have fallen asleep on the table, I barely noticed I was being waxed. My eyebrows were done in minutes and they looked great.  The cost for an eyebrow waxing is only $12.00 that is just an amazing deal. I paid $8.00 ten years ago, so $12 is great. I will be back to get them done again.

Overall I was very impressed with Heads & Tails Beauty Boutique,  the shop was lovely and very comfortable.

 Heads & Tails offers services for blow drys and waxing, without the Rittenhouse price tag.
