Lucky Leaf Caramel Apple Cranberry Pie a great dessert for the holidays #Lucky13

Well I am taking a big step this year, and having Thanksgiving for the first time at my home. Yes it is a big deal for us, and we are so excited! I know it will be a big responsibility and I will have lots to do but I love the challenge! What will I be making for dessert (sure we will have the needed pumpkin pie, my mother will be making that her specialty) I need something very simple, since I will be in charge of the rest of the meal from soup to nuts, dessert has to be easy to make for me this year. This past Sunday we just relaxed at home and, I tested out an easy recipe from Lucky Leaf, perhaps this will be my Thanksgiving dessert this year? Well let’s try it out?

 Caramel Apple Cranberry Pie
Ingredients
  • 2 prepared pie crusts
  • 2 21-ounce cans LUCKY LEAF® Premium Apple Pie Filling (I used one can of the new Apple Cranberry pie filling, and one standard apple filling)
  • ½teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½teaspoon all spice
  • 12Kraft® caramel squares
  • 1teaspoon milk
 Instructions:

Preheat oven to 425°F. Place one pie crust in a baking dish.
Combine spices with LUCKY LEAF Apple Pie Filling. Pour apple mixture into crust. Melt caramels and milk in microwave-safe bowl for about a minute, stirring twice. Pour melted caramels over the Apple Pie Filling.  Cover with the second crust. Vent crust for baking.   Brush top of pie crust with the beaten egg wash and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of sugar. Brush top of pie crust with the beaten egg wash and sprinkle with 1-teaspoon sugar. Bake for 45 minutes.
This was so very simple to make, honestly this was the one of the easiest desserts I have ever made! So how does this easy dessert taste? Just like a homemade apple pie from scratch. With a twist, the cranberry gave the pie a nice tart taste, and the sweetness of the caramel made a nice balance with the tart and sweet.
This was delicious, my husband and my daughter loved it and I will be making this for my guests this Thanksgiving, and perhaps I will be bringing this to Christmas with my parents as well, I am sure it will be a hit! If you are looking for a recipe that is simple, but tastes anything but simple I would recommend Lucky Leaf Caramel Apple Cranberry Pie, your family will love it.

This pie looks so good. I've never had cranberries and apples together before. I like them both so it should be really good. I'm so glad the recipe calls for prepared crust, I cannot make homemade crust at all.
