Summer is here and the kids are out of school? What to do?
There are some great events coming to the area, and one of these great events
is Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood “Be My Neighbor Day”. The kids can help their
community and meet Daniel Tiger! As a child he was my most favorite character
on Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood. He was such a grown up, even down to his gold
watch. I love that the character I was such a big fan of is just as popular today
and even more adorable!

The first event at Smith Memorial Playground Playhouse was a success and many children took part in crafts and meeting others from the community.

These events are free and are inspired by Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, the first new show from The Fred Rogers Company since Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. The events are designed to foster a strong sense of community in a neighborhood. Attendees will get to meet and take a picture with Daniel Tiger as well as participate in crafts or other fun activities. There will also be delicious samples from Happy Family Organic Foods and Curbside Creamery. Don’t worry if you missed the event at Smith Memorial Playground, WHYY has two additional events in the greater Philadelphia area this summer.

I think this really sounds great and we do need to instill a sense of community to our children. I love Mr. Rogers and the organization that carries his goals on.
